This is the perfect recipe for those in between paydays, I have no food days! It combines a few basic ingredients to make a simple family friendly dish. My picky toddlers just gobble it up!
4 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cube chicken bouillon, crumbled
1/2 cups boiling water
1 cup milk
Salt and Pepper to taste
1/4 Cup Parmesan cheese *optional
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat; stir in flour and bouillon until roux is well blended. Continue to cook and stir until thickened and lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Increase heat to medium and whisk water into roux until smooth. Stir in milk; cook and stir until thickened, about 2 minutes more. Season with salt and pepper. *Optional: Stir in Parmesan cheese. Pour over noodles of your choice... This would also be delicious with chopped broccoli, chicken, or shrimp!
