Hello fellow succulent lovers! Today I'm going to show you how to make succulent gremlins! Multiplying your succs are extremely easy.
How to Grow a New Succulent from a Leaf
I may need an intervention! I am addicted to my little succulents and propagating them! I am going to end up with hundreds of them... My husband will need a new place to sleep soon! Creating new succulents is very easy to do... and I will show you how!
Propagating succulents work best with FAT leaves like the above photos... I like to take 3-4 leaves off of the bottom to increase my chances of the leaves propagating.
Gently pinch the leaf and gently twist side to side until the leaf pops off of the stem. You want a nice clean pull from the stem.
Lay your leaves on a hard surface for a few days up to a week. I use a plastic food storage lid. Do not water leaves!!! You want to form a crust where the leave detached from the stem.
After a few days your leaf with form a crust where it was attached to the stem. Now you can move your leaf to a new container with a layer of soil on top.
Cover a container with soil, you can use whatever you want for a container! I use a plastic food lid and whatever else I can find throughout the house (old coffee mugs work great also!) Place your crusty leaves on top of the soil. Some of your leaves with shrivel up and die, that's why I pull 3-4 leaves from one plant.
Spray your leaves daily with water, enough to dampen the top layer of soil. (If you spray your leaves before they crust over they will soak up too much water and die! Please don't kill them!)
Keep spraying daily and place in a sunny spot inside. After a few weeks you will see little roots growing. Give them a daily spray and you will begin to see... a baby!!!
Look at those cute little babies!!! PROUD MOMMA RIGHT HERE! *swoons* The bottom right is a little boy!!! (my momma pointed that out to me! boy balls...)
Okay, keep up your daily spray, those babies need to eat.
The momma leaf will start to shrivel and die. I just buried the shriveled up little momma with the baby. Keep spraying with water daily until the roots take hold then water only when the soil is dry (around every 1-2 weeks).
Well there you have it! Go make some babies!!! Post your photos in the comments below, I would love to see your SUCCess photos! Please like and share this post... See ya later succa!

I guess I am one of those swearing moms. Lately I am trying to discipline myself to just try to work on something and be productive at the first hint or feel that I am about to start having a running thoughts spree again. It's an unpleasant feeling. Instead of slowly rotting inside, I just try to do something productive. I notice that my work may not be one of those you call something where you don't need to work a day because I love it very much but atleast it keeps me away from contemplating how to go ahead and try to kill myself.
