I don't think I have said it enough but... I LOVE Sharpies! I use them for EVERYTHING! My kitchen has been lacking a certain something. I remember my grandma had a "letter" D in her kitchen for her first name... Dorothy, and that's just what my kitchen was missing. Personalization. Now I'm pretty frugal so I like to use what I have on hand. I had a white plate and a black Sharpie... Oh ho ho! I found a font online of the Letter D that I liked. (D is for my last name) I placed a piece of paper against my computer screen and traced it. Then turn the paper over and with a pencil I scribbled all over the back of the D. It's very faint and hard to see in the picture but the D has transferred onto the plate. Now just outline with your Sharpie and fill in. After the first pass I popped the plate in the oven at 350 degrees for 30 minutes, then let cool. Be careful... it is HOT!!! I went over the letter again after it has cooled and had a more even appearance. The finished product! I decided to place the plate above our sink. This has been another easy peasy DIY that has cost me nothing but time! :)
