Oh dear coffee, coffee, coffee! There's nothing better than an iced COFFEE on a hot summer's day! Okay, there is a lot of stuff better but who's counting!? You can get very creative by making your own iced coffee at home. Let's face it, the price for a yummy, fattening iced coffee at coffee shops are ridiculous! Save some money and make your own! It's easy!
Any coffee will work but I personally love the taste of ground whole beans! They have such a rich flavor.
This is the method I use for a one glass iced coffee. I use a 32 ounce mason jar! Start by brewing a STRONG cup of coffee. I use a Keurig with my own filter and I fill the filter to the top with coffee. Take a glass and fill it with ice, and add milk, condensed milk, or heavy whipping cream to fill up about a quarter of the glass (more or less depending on your taste). I have found that filling the glass a quarter of the way with milk gives it a nice creamy flavor. Now go to your coffee cup that has the coffee, if you want a sweeter taste add your sweetener like normally. I add about a tablespoon (sometimes 3!) of sugar or honey. If you want flavor you can add a flavored coffee creamer to the coffee. Pour the coffee over the milk and ice and stir. You can also add about a half teaspoon of vanilla or different flavorings like chocolate syrup, caramel etc. For an added sweetness top with whipped cream and a drizzle of caramel. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
8 ounces prepared coffee 1/4 cream (milk, condensed milk, heavy whipping cream) Ice Sugar or sweetener Flavorings of your choice (vanilla, chocolate, caramel)
