Okay, you are probably wondering what the freak are shirataki noodles (aka Miracle Noodles)! Well let me tell you! They are a low-carber/ketoers dream! These "noodles" have zero calories and are VERY LOW CARB! If you are on a low carb diet... get these now!!!
If you have ever tried these noodles you are familiar with their smell! If you cook these bad boys correctly they will not stink! I'm going to show you how to cook these strange little delights!
Shirataki noodles are an interesting food made from the konjac root. When you open the bag of "noodles" there is a disgusting rotting smell... Okay that is an over exaggeration but it does have a fishy smell to it! If you prepare these noodle right it will lose the smell!
One bag of miracle noodles is 2 servings (I eat the entire bag!). LESS THAN 1 carb per serving! This entire bag is about 2 carbs... BOOM! Please eat these the first time at home when you are not going out! They can give you the poops! (which is not a bad thing if you are on a low carb diet and never poop!)
Soak your noodles in a bowl of cool water for about a minute or two and rinse well. I like to fill the bowl and rinse about 3-4 times. While you are rinsing, have a pot of water boiling on the stove.
Drain the noodles in the bowl and dump (carefully) the noodles into boiling water. Boil for 2-3 minutes.
Drain the water from the pot and cook over medium heat for 3-4 minutes to dry the noodles out. Do not add oil.
Serve with your favorite sauce! (spaghetti sauce, alfredo, etc).
I used a traditional alfredo sauce. Click here for my lowcarb alfredo sauce.
Kid approved!!!
